Jurgen Klopp Gives Reasons Liverpool Might Not Sign New Centre-Back

Jurgen has given the reasons Liverpool will not be shopping for a center-back in the transfer market this January despite the need for a replacement to fill in the void left off by Virgil van Dijk over injury spell.

Van Dijk played a significant role in the Reds winning the league title last season for the first time since 1989/90. He has now been ruled out for a long time over a damaged anterior cruciate ligament during the side's 2-2 draw against Everton last October.

The German manager gave the reasons for not having to sign a center-back in this transfer window for the financial difficulties inflicted on the club by the coronavirus pandemic, and also that having to look for a short term solution to their defense problems is not in his plan.

"There might be clubs with no financial problems, but this club was, and always will be with these owners, very responsible with the things we do," said Klopp.

Liverpool have two domestic titles in view - Premier League and FA Cup - but lose out on EFL Carabao Cup, the final of which will be played between Manchester City and Tottenham.
