Grammy Awards 2021 Postponed Over Fears of Coronavirus
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will not be happening on its scheduled date and it is understood to have been postponed to March.
Spikes in the spread of coronavirus cases in the city of Los Angeles is believed to have been the reason behind the decision to postpone the event which was meant to hold at the Staples Center on January 31st according to Variety.
Nominees for the event was announced in November with Beyonce and Taylor Swift in the lead with nine nods followed by artists like Meghan Thee Stallion, Jhene Aiko, Doja Cat, and Dua Lipa.
Amongst artists that will be missed at the ceremony is The Weekend whose exclusion was widely criticized by the public. Amongst African artists that received a nod is a Nigerian pop singer Burna Boy.
