FA Cup: Chelsea Advance As Tammy Abraham Nets Hat-trick
Chelsea have progressed to the next round of the FA Cup as Tammy Abraham led the side to take a 3-1 victory against Luton in the fourth round.
Blues slid to the eighth position in the league table after losing 2-0 to Leicester City, putting the team manager Frank Lampard under pressure as the club has only won two in eight previous league games. Today, Tammy came to the team's rescue.
Timo Werner inspired the opening goal with a cut-back for Tammy to tap home and he doubled the lead nodding home Reece James' cross - both goals came in within six minutes.
Kepa Arrizabalaga's goalkeeping error paved the way to Luton's only goal of the match scored by Jordan Clark. Tammy later widened the lead scoring the third goal in the second half.
Lampard commended the team for the outstanding performance especially Billy Gilmour whom he praised for his outstanding performance and admitted the player would be difficult to be left out of the team if he continued in the form he played.
The FA Cup 2019/2020 finalists will now face EFL Championship side Barnsley in the next round of the competition.
