Andy Murray In Doubt For Australian Open

It is uncertain that Andy Murray will be participating in the Australian Open over testing positive for coronavirus symptoms.

The five-time finalist is in top spirit and good health yet, he will have to quarantine for two weeks at his residence in London. He has also been ruled out of joining the charter flight to Melbourne for the tournament to allow him self-isolate as confirmed in a statement by the organizers via a tweet.

"Andy Murray has advised that he has tested positive to COVID and is self-isolating at home in the UK," the statement reads. "Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to join the official AO charter flights arriving in Australia in the coming days to go through the quarantine period with other players."

Amongst players that have tested positive for coronavirus is American player Tennys Sandgren and is already in Melbourne despite the test. Also, Swiss ace and former world number one Roger Federer has opted out over slow recovery from two surgeries he had for his knee injury.
