West Brom Appoint Sam Allardyce To Replace Saven Bilic

Sam Allardyce has been appointed as the new West Brom manager just hours after the club sacked their former head coach Slaven Bilic.

Slaven was dismissed over the struggling state of the club after playing a 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Tuesday. West Brom are now in the 19th position with 7 points in the EPL table.

However, the return of the former England boss ended his two-year without a team. After the 66-year-old manager left his former club Everton in 2018, he had the prospect of returning to Newcastle United but refused to take up the chance.

Allardyce was signed to an 18-month contract with a clause that allows him to leave should the club relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

The club's sporting and technical director, Luke Dowling expressed his confidence in their new head coach in a statement and described him as a manager with a "proven" pedigree who has "a track record of improving clubs" in the Premier League.

Luke continued, " We believe and, more importantly, Sam believes we have a group of players that have the quality needed to give the club its best chance of Premier League survival."
