Roger Federer Uncertain About Participating In Australian Open

Roger Federer has opened up on his fate on participating at the 2021 Australian Open which he feared it is uncertain for him over the need to recover from an injury.

The six-time champion ruled out playing in the remainder of the 2020 season  after undergoing knee surgery twice this year. He last played in Melbourne and lost to Novak Djokovic in a three-setter in the semi-finals of the Australian Open in February.

Speaking at an award ceremony in Switzerland, he revealed his situation and assured that he is making progress on recovery only that his expectations to have fully recovered in October failed because the second operation he had was such a "huge" one.

"I would have hope that I would be 100% in October. But I am still not today," said the 20-time Grand Slam titlist. "The second knee operation was a huge dampener, but in the last six months there has been steady progress."
