PSG To Offer Neymar, Kylian Mbappe New Contracts Amidst Interest In Lionel Messi
Paris Saint-Germain will be keeping their duo attackers Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe for much longer as the club's owner revealed the plan offer new contracts to the pair.
Both players have until 2022 in their contract and there ha peen speculations of the players' desire to leave the club. Mbappe has often been linked to Real Madrid but Neymar's return to Barcelona is not such that is much anticipated any longer amidst speculations that Lionel Messi will be the Spaniards on the expiration of his contract.
The club's chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi confirmed the interest to sign both players to new contracts and mentioned that the duo is also keen on staying on at the club.
"We've opened talks to keep Mbappe and Neymar," Nasser confirmed in a statement. "I'm confident because they want to stay here."
Renewing contracts for the players that are the club's top earners might have just done a huge blow to expectations that Messi might choose to leave Barcelona for the Ligue 1 champions. The 33-year-old attempted walking out of the club last summer but stayed back because of his release clause which was still in effect.
Neymar opened on his desire to play once again with his former teammate at Barcelona in a post-match interview after PSG's 3-1 victory against Manchester United last week, and the Argentine also responded by retweeting the statement.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are heavily linked to the player with the intent to rekindle talks on his transfer as he has just six months left in his contract and can leave as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
