Premier League: Man Utd Move Up To Top Four After Big Win Over Leeds United
Manchester United delivered a spectacular show of brilliance against Leeds United to take home a 6-2 home victory that launched them to the top four of the EPL table.
There was without a doubt a breath of relief in the team that longs for the top spot of the table and now has made it to the third position with 26 points trailing the table leaders Liverpool by five points.
Right from the start of the game, United had shown a strong will to claim the victory taking a 2-0 lead from Scott McTominay double strike within three minutes of play. Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof added a double to extend the lead to four goals to nill. But a brilliant header from Liam Cooper pulled a goal back for Leeds.
United kept their composure on their return from the break, extending the lead by to Daniel James's finish from close range and a penalty converted by Fernandes - the Portuguese second goal of the game. With United remaining strong, Leeds added in another goal from a superb finish from Stuart Dallas that ended the game in 6-2.
Red Devils have not recorded a home victory by that margin in a single Premier League game since 2011 when they defeated Arsenal by 8-2. also this is the biggest defeated Leeds' manager Marcelo Bielsa has ever recorded in his career.
They have also remained undefeated in seven consecutive league games and have taken more penalties (32) since the start of last season than any other clubs in Europe.
