Premier League: Jurgen Klopp Makes History As Liverpool Win Big Against Palace
Crystal Palace endured their worst home defeat in history in a 7-0 loss to Liverpool as the visitors extended their table lead by six points in the bid for a title defense and Jurgen Klopp becomes the highest winning manager with the club in history.
Reds started the goal campaign from early into the game with Takumi Minamino taking the lead in the fifth minutes followed by Sadio Mane. The Premier League defending champions were in every way better than their hosts making it a third late into the first half from Roberto Firminio's finish.
Palace were nowhere better after the break as Reds continued with the scoring with Jordan Henderson notching in the fourth and Firminio got his second goal shortly after that extending the lead to five. Mohamed Sallah added the remaining two goals that made it 7-0 within a space of two minutes late into the second half.
This will be Liverpool's first victory by the margin of seven against a top-flight team in history and their second by that margin against Palace since 1989.
Jurgen Klopp who was crowned the Fifa manager of the year has now led the team to their 127th victory surpassing the previous record set for the feat by Rafael Benitez for the most wins in the Premier League by a manager.
