Premier League: Jamie Vardy Forced Draw For Leicester Against Manchester United
Jamie Vardy's late goal helped Leicester City in a comeback that forced a 2-2 draw against Manchester United whose away game victory run ended after the match.
United had maintained an away winning run through 11 games and they were poised for their twelfth when Vardy slammed a shot from inside the area that Axel Tuanzebe diverted into the net for Leicester's equalizer with five minutes remaining.
Red Devils took the lead with Marcus Rashford tapping home a slide pass from Bruno Fernandes, followed by an equalizer from Harvey Barnes. United regained the lead when Fernandes ran into a through pass from Edison Cavani and finished it off.
Despite the draw, United have maintained an unbeaten run in away games through 14 consecutive times for their longest since 2011. The club's once-troubled manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has restored the club's and fan's confidence in the team.
Meanwhile, the margin could have been wider when Rashford wasted a scoring chance heading over the bar from a close Fernandes' shot that clipped that crossbar and bounced off to his reach. However, it was the England forward's 50th goal against top-flight Premier League sides.
Vardy was almost a non-present player until late into the match when he made his presence felt with the leveler that was his 11th goal in 14 appearances this season - he remained the club leading goalscorer this season.
