LeBron James And Anthony Davis Sign New Contract With Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers' duo LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both signed a new deal with the franchise with which they won the NBA Championship trophy last term.
Davis was handed a maximum contract of five-year worth $190m (£141m) and his teammate James had an extension deal of two years worth $85m (£63m) as confirmed by ESPN.
Meanwhile, Davis' agent confirmed that his client's contract has a termination clause ahead of expiration. In retrospect, the player joined the franchise from New Orleans Pelican in exchange for three players and three first-pick drafts in June last year.
Lakers manager Rob Pelinka described the signing of the 27-year-old as a "blessed moment" for the franchise and believed the extension signed by James will help him consolidate on his legacy as the "all-time Lakers great."
James' contract will run until 2022-23 when he is career will clock 20 years which happened to be the same year his son Bronny, 18, is expected to make the NBA draft.
