EFL Carabo Cup: Tottenham Book Place In Last Four
Stoke City could not stop Tottenham from getting a place in the Last Four of the EFL Carabao Cup after losing 3-1 to the London-based side.
Spurs were all fired up against Stoke and the club's returnee Gareth Bale led the scoring with a flick header from Harry Winks' cross that beat Andy Lonergan to the goal.
Jordan Thompson leveled the scoring for Stoke on their return from break, but an individual effort finish from Ben Davies reclaimed the lead for Spurs before Harry Kane's superb finish from inside the box with nine minutes remaining handed Spurs the victory.
The goal margin could have been wider had Dele Alli converted the two chances he had but Lonergan did a good job at stopping his shot on his first attempt.
Spurs joined Manchester City and first-timers Brentford in the semi-final which will be Jose Mourinho's fifth appearance in the competition in his career.
