Portugal and Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been voted Globe Soccer Player of the Century at the event which was held on Sunday at Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE.

Ronaldo won the most votes amongst strong contenders like Argentina and Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah. Just last weekend, the former Manchester United star was voted the winner of the Golden Foot Award.

"As I'm about to celebrate my 20th year as a professional footballer, Globe Soccer of The Century is a recognition that I receive with so much joy and pride!" said Ronaldo in a statement. "Once again, great Gala tonight in Dubai at such an amazing place as Burj Khalifa."

Also receiving an award at the event was Bayern Munich's Roberto Lewandowski who was voted the player of the Year and the club manager was awarded the Coach of the Year award.
