Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Max Verstappen Wins For His Season's Second
Max Verstappen denied his Mercedes rivals, Lewis Hamilton and Valterri Bottas, victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to clinch his second race win of the season as Hamilton confessed he felt "destroyed" by the coronavirus symptoms.
The race was Hamilton's first since coming out of self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 symptoms the reason for which he was replaced by George Russell at the Sahkir Grand Prix.
Nonetheless, Hamilton admitted he is "happy and grateful" to be alive despite the horrifying feelings he yet has from recovering from the virus whilst racing at Yas Marina.
"I do not feel good," said Hamilton. "I still managed to finish off the season with a podium so I'm thankful to the team that I was able to contribute."
However, Verstappen made the most of the season-ending race by controlling the pace to emerge as the fastest ahead of Bottas, who was +15.976s later than him. Hamilton finished in third. The Dutch entered the race in pole and held off the Mercedes duo to claim his career tenth race wins and also for his racing team, Red Bull.
