UEFA Gives Jose Mourinho Suspended One-Match Ban
Jose Mourinho has been handed a suspended one-match ban from European competitions after being found guilty for being the reason a game kicked off late, UEFA confirmed.
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mourinho, was found as the cause for the delay in kick-off time of the side's game against Royal Antwerp late in October. Spurs lost 1-0 to the Belgian side with which they share six points to stay atop of the table in first and second positions respectively.
The governing body's ethic and disciplinary body (CEDB) confirmed that the ban has been "deferred for a probationary period of a year" with an effect from the date of its issuance.
Mourinho also bagged £23,000 (€26K) in fine for the offense and another £2,690 (€3K) for breaching equipment regulations as provided for by UEFA.
