Star Wars Actor Passed Away Aged 85


David Prowse who is best known for his role in the Star Wars trilogy has passed away on Sunday following a brief illness. He was aged 85. 

The deceased, at the early stage of his life, was once a bodybuilder and won the heavyweight weightlifting championship for the United Kingdom in 1962. He landed his first acting role as a bodyguard in A Clockwork Orange in 1975. Before this time, he had worked as the body trainer for Christopher Reeves for his lead role in Superman.

"it's with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and millions of fans around the world, to announce that our client DAVE PROWSE M.B.E has passed away at the age of 85," Dave's representatives confirmed his demise.

Dave was famous for his Darth Vader cape in the original Star Wars trilogy. He also starred as Frankenstein in three films during his acting career.  

"As a kid, Dave Prowse couldn't be more famous to me," said Star Wars director Edgar Wright. "Stalking along corridors as evil incarnate in the part of Darth Vader & stopping a whole generation of kiddies from being down in street as the Green Cross Code man. Rest in Peace, Bristol's finest."
