Premier League: Bruno Fernandes Inspired Manchester United To Snatch Victory From Everton

Bruno Fernandes came to the rescue of Manchester United leading the team to come back from behind to win 3-1 over Everton.

United had gone winless in two successive league games coupled with a 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League Wednesday, which as a result, cast a dark cloud over Solksjaer's future at the club that is speculated to have been planning to replace him with Mauricio Pochettino.

Fernandes smashed a powerful header on Luke Shaw's cross after a one-two ball with Juan Mata and leveled up with Everton that was in the lead from Bernard's individual effort, lashing home a right-footed shot from inside the box having received a headed pass from Calvert-Lewin.

The Portuguese snatched the lead for United seven minutes later with a curled shot that could have been headed home by Marcus Rashford but bounced into the net for the second goal.

Newly-signed Edison Cavani scored his first goal for United to seal the victory with an assist from Fernandes following a fast break.

The victory might just help restore trust in the team's manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, who has been under pressure over failing performance.

Losing the game denied Everton the maximum points needed to return to the top of the table while the win saved United from a shameful start to the season that could have been their worst in 30 years.
