Premier League: Arsenal Secure First Home Victory Against Man Utd In 14-Year
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has gifted Arsenal their first victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 14-year in a 1-0 win that was the striker's first goal in five games.
Both teams had played through a goalless half before the referee called for a spot-kick over a foul offense committed by Paul Pogba against Hector Bellerin. The Gabonese forward seized the moment to register his first goal by scoring from the penalty for Arsenal's lead.
Compared to the hosts, Arsenal had a fair share of chances to have led the match by a wider goal-margin than United. William had an attempt clipped at the bar and Aubameyang curled wide a scoring chance following a fast break.
The London-side held on to the lead over United through the remaining minutes of the game for maximum points for their first since September 2006.
