Netflix Takes Off "Chappelle Show" On Dave Chappelle's Request
Dave Chappelle has finally got something that has been hurting him off his chest after asking Netflix to remove his past sketch from their streaming platform. Well, that request was not declined by the network and the platform users can no longer have access to it.
The comedy sketch axed on Dave's request is the famous Comedy Central sketch "Chappelle's Show" and the reason for that is basically because the standup claimed he was tricked into signing a contract that ending up in him not being paid accordingly.
He narrated how that happened before his audience during a segment themed 'Unforgiven' which he uploaded on his Instagram account on Tuesday. He explained during the show he was unfairly treated by Viacom despite being promised a good contract.
"I signed the contract just as any 28-year-old expect broke father would. I was desperate and needed the way out and it wasn't good money," he narrated how he was tricked into signing the contract. "And all these white people sitting at the table said, "Trust this Dave, it's a good contract."
The 47-year-old also revealed that before he entered into a contract with Viacom, he had presented the same Show to HBO Max but the network's executives asked him, "what do we need you for?" which to him was like being kicked out of the meeting room.
Responding to the standup's request, Netflix wasted no time to do the needful and has taken down the "Chappelle Show" from the platform.
