John Boyega Wants To Be Next James Bond
Having a black actor take up the coveted tole of James Bond might sound like something impossible but not to John Boyega, who strongly desires to be the next 007.
Already, Daniel Craig will star in the role for the last time in oncoming No Time To Die, and has reiterated his decision not to reprise the role. With that void left in the franchise, the Star War actor suggested fitting for the role by Black Panther actress, Letitia Wright.
As it is presently, there is a need for Craig's replacement and the film's producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are yet to found a suitable successor, despite artists like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, James Norton, and Sam Heughan showing interest in the role.
"I say Boyega I know he would love it," said Letitia when asked of her opinion on who should be the next James Bond. "Daniel would do the work and stay behind - he likes to stay low key, so that's too much [for him]. He can still play Bond too, but I know John Boyega would just...Yeah."
Boyega is not new to getting good roles in films like he did in Star Wars: The Last Jedi franchise in which he was cast as Finn. When the 28-year-old actor learned about being tipped by Letitia for the role of 007 during an interview, he said in response: "Ooh! Hey, listen. [With Steve McQueen directing? Let's do this."
He continued: "We can show them something different - we still bring that sophistication - James Bond has to be James Bond - but we could do something with that."
Unlike Boyega, the Dark Tower lead actor, Idris, has declined his interest in the role whilst Tom Hardy and James Norton has shown strong interest should be picked as the new James Bond.
