Dolly Party Prefers To "Wear Out" Than Retire
Dolly Parton has been around in the music for quite a long time, just as the like of Diana Ross and Brenda Lee, however, one thing item that is not in her plan is she is retiring. Rather, she prefers to "wear out than rust out" doing what she knows best.
The country music icon released her debut album 'Hello, I'm Dolly' in 1967 and has since released 51 studio albums in total. Despite her age, she just dropped a new collection of Christmas tunes themed, 'A Holly Dolly Christmas' in October.
If there is a factor that is encouraging the 74-year-old musician to keep going on, it is her age which she explained required her to always have something doing. She, however, did give reasons that can force her to stop, otherwise, she has no plans to retire yet.
"I don't know why I'd ever want to stop. Especially after you get older, you need things to do," she told The Times. "I'd rather wear out than rust out. You only have one life. No, I won't retire.
Given reasons that can make her retire should there be a need for that, she added, "I right pull back if my husband's not well or if I'm physically not well."
When asked about how she has managed to maintain a good outlook much younger than you would expect of someone of her age, she revealed her secret to be having a good attitude despite having undergone plastic surgery many times to keep her looking younger.
"It's an attitude and you gotta shine from within," she explained. "Sometimes, that can make you feel young and make you seem young to other people"
