ATP Finals: Rafael Nadal Beats Stefanos Tsitsipas To Reach Sixth Semi-final Appearance
Rafael Nadal has secured his sixth Nitto ATP Finals semi-finals appearance by outlasting Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
Both players served eight aces apiece but revamped his grip on the control of the game in the decider at 4-2 winning a break and saving another to wrap up the match that lasted for over two hours at the O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
"That game at 5-4 in the second set affected me a little bit," said Nadal. "But then I was able to get the break early in the third, then he broke me and I broke again."
Whilst the Spaniard saved only one in three breaks faced against the Greek player, he hit 32 winners making 13 unforced, and won four in eight break advantages,
