ATP Finals: Daniil Medvedev Routs Diego Schwartzman To Reach Last Four


Daniil Medvedev set up a semi-final match against Rafael Nadal after easing passed Diego Schwartzman in straight sets 6-3 6-3.

Similar to what the Russian did to Novak Djokovic on Wednesday, Schwartzman did not stand much chances with Medvedev, who claimed 30 winners and 19 unforced errors and saved the two break advantages faced against the Argentine.

Having Schwartzman under control with the fierceness of his forehand shots, the fourth seeded player's won 88 percent of his first serve, and claimed three in nine break point advatanges during the match that lasted for over an hour. Meanwhile, it was Schwartzman fourth successive head to head losses to Medvedev. 

Meeting Nadal in the semi will be Medvedev's fourth in head to head and his second in the Nitto ATP Finals - last year, he was routed in the Finals in three sets 6-7(3), 6-3, 7-6(4).
