Tom Raider Sequel Release Gets Indefinite Delay

The sequel to Alicia Vikander led film Tomb Raider might not make it to the bigscreen anytime soon and that is due to some reasons, top upon which is coronavirus pandemic. Presently, no date has been confirmed for the release yet.

Meanwhile, the film is not alone in this situation as the production studios, MGM, also confirmed it will be making changes to the dates scheduled for a number of films' release. The film which was expected to drop on March 19, 2021 will now be delayed indefinitely.

There may yet be hope of the film making it to the cinema soon as Vikander revealed there is a possibility of releasing the film next year as discussion is on-going on the delay.

"The plan was for us to start making on this year of course due to the [coronavirus pandemic] situation, that's now very different. We're still in discussion about it, so I hope we can probably get to it next year," said Vikander.

It is nothing new this year that release dates are either rescheduled or delay indefinite as Sony Studios was also forced to change No Time To Die release date to April 21, 2021. Likewise, other films like Fast & Furious, Black Widow, Chris Rock starring film Spiral and many others.

Vikander will return as Lara Croft in the sequel which is directed by Ben Wheatley, he replaced the series first entry director, Roar Uthaug.
