Premier League: West Ham Staged Late Comeback To Avoid Defeat To Tottenham

West Ham staged a stunning comeback to secure a 3-3 draw against Tottenham, scoring the three equalizing goals within the last 12 minutes remaining to play.

Spurs, who claimed a remarkable 6-1 win against Manchester United from their previous game, had seized the lead for the most part of the game with Harry Kane scoring twice within eight minutes after Son Heung-Min had led the scoring with the first goal in the first minutes before the unfortunate struck.

It was a victory within reach for hosts until late into the game when Fabian Balbuena set off a comeback by heading home Cresswell's free-kick in the 82nd minutes. Hammers' fightback was enhanced by Spurs' Davidson Sanchez's own goal three minutes after Fabian's and Maniek Lanzini lashed home a loose ball in the injury-time following a free-kick.

The London-based side had the luxury of adding a goal after Sanchez's own goal before Gareth Bale could not convert the chance for the side's fourth. The Welsh international was making his debut appearance since he rejoined the team from Real Madrid this summer.

Never before in the history of the Premier League has a team fought back as late as the 82nd minute to get an equalizer from three goals down, especially against a top-flight team.
