Premier League: Liverpool Come From Behind To Beat Sheffield United

Liverpool regained winning form in a comeback 2-1 home victory against Sheffield United for their first win in three league matches and closed in on taking table leadership with points ties Leicester City.

Sheffield could not hold on to the lead gained from the penalty converted by Sander Berge as Roberto Firminp leveled up for Reds from a rebound after Ramsdale parried Sadio Mane's cross to the forward's reach for a tap in from close-range.

Mane inspired Reds to take the lead for a 2-1 lead after his cross found Diogo Jota, who peeled off from Enda Stevens to gain a chance for a header that beat Aaron Ramsdale to the goal in the 64th minute.

The visitors could have endured more goals against the defending champions as Mo Salah was closed to giving the side the lead very early into the game but was stopped by John Egan. Ramsdale also tipped over the cross-var Alexander-Arnold's long-range attempt at the goal from the center of the pitch.

The hosts' previous two league matches have not been impressive as they lost 7-2 to Aston Villa and draw 2-2 with Everton during which Virgil van Dijk sustained an ACL injury. They are now second behind Leicester in the table.
