Manchester United Agree Two-Year Deal With Edison Cavani
Manchester United have agreed to a two-year deal worth £20million with former PSG striker Edison Cavani ahead of his medical at the club.
Cavani left the Ligue 1 champions after running out of contract last season and will be joining United as a free agent in a contract that reportedly could see him earn as much as £200,000/week when the contract is finalized.
United failed to secure an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for their top target Jadon Sancho and switched interest for the Uruguayan who is deemed as another option to take up. The Germans are reluctant to talk a cut on the asking fee of £107million starlet which United can not afford to dole out for the English.
Borussia's sporting director Michael Zorc expressed the club commitment to keep this striker in a statement telling United a deal for the player will obviously not happen in this transfer window.
Speaking to a sports reporter, Zorc affirmed no deal for Jadon saying, "The door is closed, I have said this 27 times!"
Cavani, on the other hand, has an excellent record at PSG where he won six Ligue 1 titles during his seven years reign at the club with a record of 200 goals in 301 appearances in all competitions.
