Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne Nears Securing New Deal

Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly close to securing a contract extension with Manchester United that will stay at the club for five more seasons.

The club has reportedly been in talks with the player since last season for a new two-year contract despite having until 2023 in his previous contract. Thus, signing the extension will keep at Etihad Stadium until 2025.

It is understood that the central midfielder is determined to stay that long at the club and is ready to sign the new contract. According to Sportmail, he stands to get a pay rise from the new deal.

Mind you, Bruyne is the club's highest pay player at the club having weekly wages of £350,000 and followed by Raheem Sterling, who gets basic wages of £300,000-a-week.

Citizens had a terrible winless run through two league games having conceded a 5-2 home defeat to Leicester City followed by a 1-1 draw against newly-promoted side Leeds over the weekend.

The Belgian scored City's second goal in a 3-1 opening game win against Wolverhampton and that has been his only goal in all five appearances this season.
