European Open: Ugo Humbert Win Second Career Title At Antwerp
Ugo Humbert has clinched the European Open title for his second career ATP tour title this season as he defeated Alex de Minaur in the final on Sunday.
de Minaur was outclassed in straight sets 6-1 7-6(4) by the Frenchman, who in a rally won four straight points to take a 5-3 lead at the tiebreak and later won two match points to wrap up the victory. The world #38 saved the two breaks faced against the Australian while claimed two in eight breakpoint advantages.
"I am super happy to win my second title this year against a really great player [Alex de Minaur]," said Humber. "I was aggressive like the previous matches and I am super happy to do it."
The 22-year-old becomes the third Frenchman to have won a title at Antwerp after Richard Gasquest (2016) and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2017) and also second from the country to won multiple titles this season after Gael Monfils won defended his title at Rotterdam Open back-to-back and also won the Montpellier Open.
