Champions League: Ole Gunnar Solksjaer Expresses Confidence in Man Utd, Says "These Boys Are Fantastic"
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has expressed his confidence in Manchester United describing the team as being "fantastic" having secured needed maximum points against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Premier League side claimed a 2-1 victory over the French side in the season-opening game of the Champions League on Tuesday. They were able to ward off their opposition despite Anthony Martial's own goal which was the only goal they conceded.
United have proven to be the better side against the Ligue 1 champions having claimed a back-to-back victory, 18-month after their controversial comeback that stopped the French side in the knockout stages of the competition.
"These boys can play. They enjoyed it," said Solksjaer. "Attitude, work rate...You know the team spirit has been fantastic since they've come back from the international break so it's been brilliant."
In the lead to the team's good start to the competition, United had endured an embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Tottenham before he regained winning form in a 4-1 win against Newcastle United over the weekend.
"We looked at this game as a possibility," Solkjaer continued. "It's early on and we've all seen that the teams who played in Europe at the end of last season, it's taken a bit of time to get going."
The Norwegian manager praised his players especially newly-signed left-back Alex Telles for his performance on his Champions League debut with the team and admitted it was unexpected to have delivered well during the game. The former FC Porto player joined the team for four years for £13.5million this summer.
