Tyler Perry Joins Hollywood Billionaire Rich List

Tyler Perry has been unveiled as the newest billionaire in the film industry with a net worth estimated to be over a billionaire dollars according to Forbes. 

Known for his role as Madea in his comedy in his films, the actor is one of the biggest names in the industry from African-American descent. Last year, He launched a self-styled studio on 330 acres of land in Atlanta, Georgia making him the first black person to own such big a film studio in the United States. 

Sources of the filmmaker's wealth come mostly from his film catalog, personal wealth of about $300million which is derived from the $150million annual deal with ViacomCBS, ownwership of B+ streaming service and others. 

Speaking of his new status as a billionaire, he told the magazine that he appreciates being regarded as one from a humble which to him "means you were poor as hell."

In the entertainment industry, Tyler is the newest black billionaire in the list after Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Oprah Winfrey.
