Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Agrees On Three-Year Contract With Arsenal
Arsenal and their team captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have agreed on a new deal that will keep the player at the club for three years.
Aubameyang has until the end of next season remaining in his contract and was once linked to Real Madrid amidst an attempt to leave but Arsenal pressed on convincing him to extend his contract. Both the club and the Gabonese player have been in lengthy talks before he eventually yielded to a new deal.
The player is expected to earn as much as £250,000/week from the new contract which potentially will make him the highest-paid at the club after Mesut Ozil - the German is set to leave the club after next season.
When the forward was undecided about his future at the club, he led the side to win their first FA Cup since 2017 scoring a brace in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium. The team added to the silverware streak by winning the community in a shootout against Liverpool after the game ended in 1-1 draw.
He signed for Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund for £56million in 2018. He finished last season as the second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 22 league goals - he was also the leading scorer at Arsenal.
