French Open: Novak Djokovic Enters Into Second Round
Novak Djokovic opened his title campaign in Garros Roland by breezing past Mikael Ymer to progress to the second round in the quest for his 18th career Grand Slam title. He will play in the second round Ricardas Berankis.
Ymer was no match for the top-seeded player though he showed some interesting skills but was cleanly outclassed in straight 6-0 6-2 6-3 on his first encounter with the number ranked player.
Just about a week ago, Djokovic won his 36th ATP Masters 1000 title at the Internazionali BNLd'Italia in Rome, extending his title-streak to four out of five major events this season. Besides that, except for his disqualification at the US Open, the Serb is yet to concede a match this season - he has improved 32-1.
"I'm ready physically, mentally, emotional to go deep in the tournament. Hopefully, I can have another successful year here in Paris," said Djokovic who dominates in Garros Roland opener winning record having won his 16th today.
