Manny Pacquiao Confirms Fight Against Conor McGregor Next Year

Once again, retired Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor's boxing skills will be put to a serious test by Manny Pacquiao in a fight that will be taking place in the Middle East next year.

McGregor, for the second time in his career, declared his retirement from mixed martial art in June, but only to take up a fight against the Filipino. He made his boxing debuted three years ago in a fight against a retired fighter Floyd Mayweather.

Before the fight was confirmed, McGregor had teased about his desire to take on Pacquiao in the faraway Middle East following a rant on Twitter on Friday.

"For the sake of all the Filipino Covid-19 victim, Senator Manny Pacquiao will be fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year," the 41-year-old confirmed in a statement.

Both fighters are expected to earn really big money from the fight but Pacquiao has a different intention with what he will be doing with the proceeds. He added in his statement that money made from the bout will be going towards charity for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic in his country.
