Manchester United Sign Donny van de Beek From Ajax For £40M

Ajax midfieder Donny van de Beek have sealed his transfer to Manchester United in a five-year deal worth £40million after passing his medical on Tuesday.

The Dutch player will join his former teammate Hakim Ziyech in the Premier League but the latter will be playing for Chelsea where he was signed to a deal of five-year contract worth £36.6million soon after January transfer window. 

"I cannot begin to explain how incredible an opportunity it is to join a club with such an amazing history. I would like to thank everyone at Ajax," said Beek. "I am now ready to take the next step in my career and perform at the highest level."

Donny is the signing transfer completed by United in this transfer window. The 23-year-old is considered to be the replacement for Jadon Sancho who they failed to secure his transfer from Borussia Dortmund. 

United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer added on the 23-year-old signing, "Donny's performances in the Eredivise and in Europe have been excellent over the last few years and we are all looking forward to working with him."
