Manchester City Sign Defender From Benfica
Manchester City had a very difficult weekend over the 5-2 humiliating opening home game defeat to Leicester City that witnessed three penalties against them en route the defeat. Foxes' Jamie Vardy netted a hat-trick having converted two penalties and an excellent finish with a back-flick.
Pep Guardiola has received a boost at the back with the signing of a Benfica defender, Ruben Dias, to a six years contract worth £65million, and Citizens' defender Nicolas Otamendi moved the other way joining the Portuguese side for £13.5million.
Ruben who is also a protege of Benfica academy said on his signing, "To have the opportunity to join a club like Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me and one I couldn't turn down."
The 23-year-old will be the third signing completed by City in this window after Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres. HoweverRuben will be filling the space left off by the Argentine who joined his former club.
