Liverpool Complete Thiago Alcantara Signing From Bayern Munich

Thiago Alcantara has completed the four-year deal worth £20million for his transfer from Bayern Munich to his new club, Liverpool on Friday. The deal comes with add-ons of £5million.

The midfielder is a seven-time Bundesliga title winner with his former team and wrapped up his trophy streak with the team with the Champions League in August.

Thiago becomes the club's second major signing after former Olympiacos left-back Kostas Tsimikas, and Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp, described him as a great player he is happy to sign.

"I know all the people at Bayern Munich wanted to keep him desperately," said Klopp. "That's normal and understandable because he played an important role, in the last season as well."

Bayern manager Hansi Flick would like to keep the player who had until next summer remaining in his previous contract but he had communicated his desire to leave to the club's executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in July.

"It's an amazing feeling. I was waiting for this moment for a long time and I am very happy to be here," said Thiago. "I must adapt to the team as fast as I can in the situation and the context that we are living right now."
