Liverpool Agree Deal For Bayern Munich Midfielder Thiago Alcantara


Liverpool have reached a four-year deal agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of star player and midfielder Thaigo Alcantara on Thursday.   

Reds were faced with a strong resilient from newly-promoted Leeds United on their opening match of the  Premier League season that witnessed Mo Sallah scoring a hattrick in a 4-3 victory that extended the team's unbeaten run to 60 consecutive games. 

Meanwhile, Thiago had been keen on leaving Bayern despite winning the Champions League with the side in a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain. He had since July already communicated his desire to leave to the club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. 

Bayern manager Hansi Flick described the midfielder as an "exceptional player" in his team who had an incredibly "successful" seven years at the club. 

The midfielder has a season left in his current contract with the Bundesliga side but will be leaving anyway in the four-year deal worth £20million plus add-ons of £5m. 

Flick added, "He's a wonderful person and an outstanding professional. It was very emotional today when he said goodbye to us all."
