Lewis Hamilton Risks FIA Investigation Over Protest
Lewis Hamilton might face investigation for anti-racism protest after winning an inaugural race at the Tuscan Grand Prix on Sunday. Formula 1 bosses are understood to be considering having a look into the Mercedes' driver's decision to protest after the race was concluded.
The six-time F1 champion was seen wearing a T-Shirt with "Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor" slogan printed on it the moment after he claimed victory at the chaotic race in Mugello.
FIA spokesperson confirmed in a statement that the protest staged by Hamilton is currently "under serious consideration" as the governing body considers itself as a non-political organization.
The incident that led to Breonna's demise while in her home in Louisville, Kentucky from multiple gunshots fired by the police, was mentioned by Hamilton in his speech after winning the race.
"I've been wanting to bring awareness to the fact there are people being killed on the street," Hamilton lamented over the incident. "Someone was killed in her own house and they were in the wrong house and those guys are still walking free."
