Gonzalo Higuain Leaves Juventus To MSL Side, Inter Miami

Gonzalo Higuain has signed for David Beckham-owned MSL club Inter Miami in a two-year contract worth $8.8m after he mutually terminated his previous contract with Juventus.

The forward's exit from Turin was imminent following a statement of Juventus' new manager Andrea Pirlo that the player will be leaving the club in this transfer window.

"I'm motivated to try a new league and help the team grow," said Higuain. "Individually, my goal is to demonstrate that I can contribute and continue playing great football here, and I hope I can achieve that because I have all the tools necessary to succeed."

Higuain was signed in 2017 to the Italian Serie A champions in a record fee of £75m from Napoli and was later loaned to Chelsea in a reunion with Maurizio Sarri who signed him to the Premier League side and they both left for Juventus on completion of the 2018/2019 season.

The 32-year-old joined the club as their highest-paid player alongside his countryman, Matias Pellegrini, and Rodolfo Pizarro.
