Chelsea Could Have "Loan Out" Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Frank Lampard Confirms

Frank Lampard has opened up on Ruben Loftus-Cheek's future at the club and has a piece of advice for him if he wants to remain at the club. The Blues manager confessed the midfielder was meant to be loaned out if not for the break over the coronavirus pandemic.

Loftus-Cheek is into his sixth season at Stanford Bridge and has only been loaned to Crystal Palace for a season. Last season, the 24-year-old only managed to make 10 caps in all competitions having sustained an Achilles injury.

"I am very open with Ruben," said Lampard. "We have had a couple of conversations in the last week. He is fit as a fiddle so he could play week in, week out."

Chelsea made a massive haul in the signing of seventh players that cost them well over £200million in this transfer window. Unfortunately, the team is yet to show any improvement in terms of their performance as they were held to a 3-3 draw against West Brom on Saturday after losing 2-0 to Liverpool.

"There is a possibility Ruben might go out [on loan] to play games because I think that would be great for him," Lampard revealed concerning the player's future. "We hold him in very high regard here, I certainly do, and that could be a good option for him."

Loftus-Cheek has two clubs linked to him amidst his doubtful future at Stanford Bridge as Aston Villa and Southampton are reportedly linked to him.
