Chelsea Complete Signing Of Kai Havertz From Bayer Leverkusen


Chelsea have officially signed Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen after completing his medical in a five-year deal that is reportedly worth £71million on Friday. 

Havertz left Germany national team training camp ahead of their game against Switzerland UEFA National League fixture to complete his medical in the United Kingdom. He played a vital part in the Bundesliga side's 2019/20 season by scoring 18 league goals. 

The attacking midfielder will be the seventh signings completed under Frank Lampard in this window transfer and is move is necessary to fill the space left by the exit of Willian and Pedro this summer. 

"I am very happy and proud to be here. It is a dream come true to play in a big club like Chelsea," he said on signing the deal. 

The 21-year-old will join at the club his countryman Timo Werner and striker who was signed for £47.5million from RB Leipzig. 

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added, "He is an exciting dynamic talent. We are delighted to be able to add his versatility and quality to the squad before the season begins."
