Aston Villa Sign Ross Barkley To Season-Long Loan Contract
Chelsea's attacking midfielder Ross Barkley has left the club to join Aston Villa on a season-long loan despite having played in the side's three league games in their start to the season.
Ross has three years remaining in the contract signed with Blues from Everton in 2018 but has fallen off the side's pecking other after Frank Lampard introduced new attacking midfielders to the team in his signing of seventh players in this transfer window.
"Capturing a player of Ross' quality is a real coup for our club," said Villa manager Dean Smith. "I am certain he will thrive here and improve our team."
With the England international joining Villa, he makes the side fifth signing this window having previously signed four amongst which is Brentford forward Ollie Watkin and Lyon winger Bertrand Traore.
