Tottenham Sign Pierre-Emile Hojberg To Five-Year Deal
Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojberg has signed to a five-year deal worth £15million with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
Hojberg, who joined Saints for £12.8million from Bayern Munich in 2016, completed his transfer despite having until next summer remaining in his contract after having his medical on Monday.
Tottenham confirmed the signing of the 25-year-old on their official website and followed it up with a clip of the player at the club's training facility dressed in their jersey.
"What was very important to me is I wanted to play in a club where I could see myself for many years," said Hojberg in a statement. "Tottenham was the one. I'm very proud, very happy, excited."
The newly-signed player started his career at Bayern Munich - first with the junior team before he was promoted to the senior team in 2013. He was later loaned to FC Augsburg and also to Schalke. During his spell at Spurs, he scored five goals in 134 appearances in all competitions.
