Philippe Coutinho: Barcelona Are Keen On Player's Transfer To Arsenal
Philippe Coutinho is set for a return to Premier League as talks for his transfer between Barcelona and Arsenal is reportedly top on the Spaniards' priorities.
Making headway at Nou Camp has proven to be difficult for the Coutinho and has fallen out of favour with the club that now wants to raise capital from his transfer. Barca attempted offloading him to Bayern Munich in a loan spell with a clause to retain him permanently, which the Germans did not trigger until he completed a season-long loan spell.
Amidst talks between the two clubs, there are claims that Arsenal are also in talks with his agent Kia Joorabchian who in an interview with talkSport admitted his client will be returning to the Premier League this summer since Nou Camp is no longer home for him.
"After the Champion League, I think it's not been a secret, that he wants to come back to the Premier League if he can," Kia explained. "He loves playing in the Premier League, he adored playing in the Premier League, and I think that's one of his priorities."
There is no other clubs near Arsenal in the race for the Brazilian's signature and they also have Chelsea winger Willian in their priority for a transfer this summer.
Instead of holding for Coutinho, Barcelona are doing all they can to land a deal with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, the club's president Josep Bartomeu told Sport over the weekend that they are already in talks with Inter.
"Barca have spoken to Iner about Mautaro over the last few weeks but the conversation have been put on hold by mutual consent," said Bartomeu.
