Mikel Obi Signs For Stoke City
Nigerian midfielder Mikel Obi has returned to England after signing a deal with EFL Championship side, Stoke City, on Monday.
Mikel's first spell in the Premier League was with Chelsea where he spent eleven seasons and later on at Middlesbrough for a season after a two-season move to Chinese side Tianjin TEDA.
The 33-year-old is determined to play in the Premier League once again on his return to England according to Stoke manager Michael O'Neill's statement on signing the player.
"I was impressed with him when we met for the first time," said O'Neill. "We spent four hours talking and he made it clear he wants to get back into Premier League and finish his career there and hopefully he can do that with Stoke City."
During his days at Stanford Bridge, Mikel won nine silverware with the club including two Premier League titles and one Champions League and Europa League title.
