Lionel Messi Makes Career Decision After Bayern Munich Hauled Barcelona Out Of UCL
Bayern did not just eliminate the Spaniards from the Champions League in the quarter-finals, they hauled them out of the competition in an embarrassing defeat of 8-2 on Friday. The victory was the biggest win in the competition since 2015 when Real Madrid beat Malmo 8-0.
Since the defeat, Barca have come under heavy criticism from their fans, sports analyst, and even the players who found the margin by which they lose to Germans unacceptable. Messi likewise, has fallen out of love with the club and now wants out if possible according to sources close to the striker.
The Argentine has been critical of the club since they lost La Liga title bid to Real Madrid who came from behind after the coronavirus pandemic break to emerge as the champions.
While an insider close to the striker revealed, "he has never seen Leo so determined to leave" Barcelona as quoted by The Sun, another outlet Esporte Interativo claimed the player just want to leave the club "immediate" if possible.
There are speculations that two Premier League giants are just waiting to do the catch of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner on his exit from the Catalan side where he has only played throughout his career. The Times claimed Manchester United and Manchester City are the two clubs that are ready to bid for Messi.
It sounds interesting that the 33-year-old finally want out of Nou Camp, however, his buyout clause is set at staggering £633million which of course will be out of reach for any clubs in the window transfer after most have been financially hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
