Formula One: Turkey And Bahrain GP Added To 2020 Season Calendar
The 2020 Formula 1 season has got three more races added to the calendar with Istanbul, Turkey and Bahrain joining the list extending the total race for the year to 17.
Turkish Grand Prix will be making it return to the sport after nine years and Bahrain joined the calendar for a double making it the third after Austria and Silverstone to host two races this season.
Turkey will make its return on November 15, and after two weeks break, Bahrain will be doing a double within a week which are scheduled to hold on November 29 and on December 6. The season's final is scheduled to hold yet in Abu Dhabi on December 13.
"The Turkish Grand Prix is back!," Formula 1 tweeted on Tuesday. "F1 will also be making two trips in Bahrain before heading to Abu Dhabi in mid-December."
Races were forced to be suspended for nearly five months over the Covid-19 pandemic that led to cancelation of some races like Australian GP, China GP and Vietnam GP. The killer bug impacted on the sport after a McLaren was tested positive for coronavirus symptons in Melbourne ahead of the season-opening race, Austrailian GP.
Later in the season, it is expected that spectators might be allowed in as F1 confirmed that some races will hold with "a limited number fans" allowed in the venues. However, the last six races have been held behind closed doors.
