Ferran Torres Completes £20.8M Signing With Manchester City
Ferran Torres has completed his move from Valencia to join Manchester City after signing a five-year deal of £20.87million with the Premier League side.
Valencia needed to sell the winger over the financial difficulties which they reportedly had been struggling with even before the coronavirus pandemic break.
City, on the contrary, needed the Spanish player as a replacement for Leroy Sane who left the club to join Bayern Munich despite all efforts to convince him to stay.
"I am so happy to be joining City," said Ferran on his move. "Evey player wants to be involved in attacking teams and Manchester are one of the most attacking in world football."
While Ferran replaced Leroy at City, the exited player's move became apparent after sustaining a hamstring injury that ruled him out for the whole season, and his inability to get enough game time he mentioned was one of his reasons for leaving.
City, who finished the season in second place behind Liverpool, have also made a £40million offer for relegated Bournemouth's left-back Nathan Ake. Cherries have accepted City's bid for Ake, a player they needed to replace the role of team's former captain Vincent Kompany.
