FA Cup Final: Arsenal Win Trophy With Pierre Emerick Aubameyang Scoring Both Goals

Arsenal has ended their trophy-drought by winning the FA Cup in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scoring both goals for Gunners.

This is the first time Arsenal would win a trophy without their longest-serving coach, Arsene Wenger, and ended the deadlock under Mikel Arteta, extending their FA Cup wins to 14. Arteta won the trophy with the club as an Arsenal player under Wenger.

Chelsea fell behind Gunners after gaining the lead through Christian Pulisic who finished off a brilliant pass from Olivier Giroud but conceded a penalty for Aubameyang converted to level the scoring.

Aubameyang knocked in the winning goal following a fast break with an assist from Nicolas Pepe's cross and he lashed home the winner chipping the ball over Willy Cabellero.

Aubemyang and the team captain became the fifth player ever to score a double in a FA Cup final for Arsenal after. The Gabonese player is also the oldest player to score twice in a FA Cup final in recent times.

Speaking after the game, Arteta who is the first Arsenal manager to win a trophy in his debut season expressed his confidence in Aubameyang staying at the club this summer.

Frank Lampard men did really well against Arsenal but unfortunately for them, they lost their goalscorer Pulisic to a hamstring injury and Mateo Kovacic.
